Corrie's Yasmeen Nazir in trouble as she faces tough questions from DS Abney

Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) could be in serious trouble with the police when she was brought in for questioning after stabbing her abusive partner Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) with a broken wine bottle, as the no-nonsense DS Abney (Fiona Skinner) gave her a grilling.

Yasmeen faced a tough time from DS Abney who tried to suggest that Yasmeen attacked Geoff out of malice and not self-defence.

She crumbled under the tough line of questioning and struggled to give her version of events.

Although DS Abney said she had no intention of charging Yasmeen, she seemed to think she purposefully tried to murder Geoff, and things weren’t looking good.

With viewers firmly behind Yasmeen throughout this ordeal, Abney charging in and assuming she was guilty hasn’t won her any fans, who fumed on Yasmeen’s behalf at the behaviour of the police.

Can she find the strength to fight her corner before Abney goes after her again?

The police will soon be able to speak to Geoff as it was revealed in the episode that he is ‘stable’ in hospital. What will he say when he gets to speak to Abney? Will he tell more lies to cover up his own evil behaviour?
