Emmerdale spoilers: Cain Dingle drops heartbreaking ‘bombshell’ on Moira

Moira Barton (played by Natalie J.Robb) and Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) relationship has been through the mill over the last year on Emmerdale after it was revealed that Moira had been having an affair with Cain’s long-lost son Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). However, despite splitting up “for good” Cain is still besotted, but that doesn’t mean they always see eye-to-eye and in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap, Cain is going to drop a heartbreaking bombshell on his ex. 

In a very dramatic reveal last year, Cain exposed Moira and Nate’s affair after months of sneaking around behind the Dingle’s back. 

It all came to a head when Cain took them both on a boat trip, so they couldn’t escape his wrath, ending in a fight and the boat setting on fire. 

Cain and Moira have struggled ever since and going to and fro when it comes to whether they should be following their hearts or their heads. 

Cain admitted he was struggling to get over the betrayal but he still loves Moira in his lockdown episode with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) a couple of weeks ago, so it seems it will all come down to Cain’s ego.

This week, however, Moira looked like she was moving on for good after striking up a flirtation. 

Moira had an interaction with farmer and restaurant chain manager Ricky (Max Bowler) and they found themselves flirting. 

The farmer made a huge order with the farm, worrying Moira that they wouldn’t be able to fulfil it, but it quickly became clear he was just making excuses to spend time with her. 

In Friday’s episode, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) will notice an extra skip in Moira’s step and confront her. 

In a spoiler clip, Rhona can be seen complimenting Moira on her outfit, only for her to reply that all she is doing is fixing a fence. 

The two get into a conversation about how Ricky had just made Moira feel good about herself for the first time in months, but Rhona seemed unsure. 

Moira will tell her that a woman can feel good about themselves sometimes and Rhona will wander off to finish whatever she was doing. 

However, when Cain turns up, Moira’s mood will take a nose-dive as the two continue to struggle.

Cain will announce: “Marlon is taking Leo to some nature trail and he said he’d take the boys along and all.”

Moira sighs and crosses her arms, annoyed that things like this keep happening. 

She tells Cain that she had promised the boys they could go to the park later. 

Cain says: “Well, I’ve told him yeah now so what do you want me to do?”

Moira will snap back: “We need to get a system here.

“You are telling me what to do and I’m just going along with it.

“Look can we have a chat and try and sort something better out you free for such at all? 

“It shouldn’t take long as long as we are both reasonable.”

But fans will go wild when she sees the end of the conversation when Cain agrees. 

The two will give a flirty smirk to each other, but will they finally be able to put their differences aside? And will Cain try a lot harder when he knows another man is in the picture? 

Emmerdale airs on ITV Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm.
