Simone Biles Says She Learned a Lot About Skin Care From Teammate Aly Raisman
As if you weren’t already mesmerized by Simone Biles’s impeccable talent and infectious confidence, you won’t be surprised to learn she’s also got the makeup skills to boot. In a recent tutorial for Vogue, the four-time Olympic gold medalist, who always does her own makeup for competitions, walked through how she gets Olympics-ready.
“For me, the importance of beauty in gymnastics does not matter what you look like,” Biles said. “It’s what you do on the mat, so going into a competition, does makeup make me feel better? Yes, but it’s what I do out there on the floor that really, really matters.” That’s why the Olympian just likes to have fun with her makeup, often matching her eyeshadow to her leo or opting for her go-to gold eye look.
But before she launching into makeup, beauty-lovers like Biles know that a flawless look starts with the skin. As she delicately washed her face with SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser ($75) and followed with the SK-II Pitera Facial Treatment Mask ($139) and Facial Treatment Essence ($99), Biles shared that she actually learned a lot about skin care from friend and fellow teammate, Aly Raisman. “She was obsessed with skin-care products and half her suitcase, every time we went on assignment, was all skin care,” she said. “That was like her relaxation mode, and now I finally get it.”
