The first half of Lucifer’s highly anticipated fifth season finally arrived on Netflix on August 21.
Fans watched in awe as Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) finally made things official with his detective partner Chloe Decker (Lauren German) in between confrontations with his twin brother, Michael.
In addition to the show’s standard Biblical mayhem, viewers were also given a chance to find out more about Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and her family history.
During this season’s special black-and-white noir episode, ‘Lucifans’ were finally introduced to Mazikeen’s mother, Lilith, also known as Lily Rose.
Brandt stepped into another role this year portraying her character’s own mother, while an older version of Lilith was portrayed by L Scott Caldwell.
Mazikeen discovered a hard-hitting truth when Chloe’s daughter Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) tricked Lucifer out of the story behind his iconic ring, into which she transferred her powers of immortality.
When Mazikeen confronts her mother in the present day they fail to make a connection and Lilith is revealed to have died a few days later.
As her quest to find a soul continues, Mazikeen’s place in the world becomes even more uncertain after her life was shattered by the death of her one family connection.
However, there’s still a chance Mazikeen’s father could be somewhere out there, and a revealing clue on iMDB may have exposed his eventual appearance in the season finale.
In the Lucifer comics, a spin-off from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series, Mazikeen’s father is an angel named Ibriel, an influential celestial and the architect of Heaven.
After one viewer questioned how Mazikeen and her demon cohorts came into being, another fan replied that Ibriel’s potential appearance in season five, part two could have the answers.
Redditor h2p012 said: “IMDb lists Ibriel as a character in episode 16 (the finale).”

“In the comics, Ibriel is the father of Maze, and an angel, the one who designed the Silver City.”
The midseason finale has already introduced Lucifer’s father God (Dennis Haysbert) into the mix, so the series may be about to unleash even more celestials on the world.
Moreover, fans have still yet to have a glimpse of the fabled Silver City, so introducing this pivotal character from the original comic series could be the logical next step.
However, it’s important to note that no one has been confirmed to be playing Ibriel yet, and IMDb listings ahead of official announcements are often revealed as false.
As the fan reminded Reddit users: “Important to point out that IMDb can easily be flat out wrong, especially right now before the episode has aired.
“The character itself could be different from their comic origins, but that is a super specific angel that isn’t commonly known outside of the comics.”
However, the latest season has already started to embrace more elements of the show’s comic book counterpart with the introduction of Michael, so the arrival of Ibriel isn’t completely out of the question.
