Strictly's Katya Jones reveals shocking abuse calling her an 'ugly f***ing pig' and telling her to 'hang yourself'
STRICTLY professional Katya Jones has revealed the shocking messages she gets from trolls who call her an "ugly f***ing pig" and tell her to "hang yourself".
Katya has been forced to isolate after testing positive for coronavirus – and told she can no longer compete on Strictly with partner Nicola Adams.
The dancer, 31, has since spoken out after being bombarded with abuse.
"Let's start by me saying that I am only one of MANY who receives this abuse and this is definitely not the first and probably not the last time," she said in a lengthy post.
"We know that everyone's answer to this is: ''just ignore those idiots, report and block them.'' Which I have always done.
"However, I have come to a point (and it's not about me, it's not about me being in the public eye, because absolutely NO ONE should be getting this type of abuse) where this growing hatred, unkindness, bullying and inhumanity has really made me sad and disappointed.
"I started to think that not to challenge these cases and these people is actually more irresponsible.
"It's easy to just click ''block'' button but does it really solve the problem? Or does it keep feeding the monster of online bullying because those people feel like they can get away with it?
"My questions to these people are – would you look into my eyes and tell me these exact words if I was stood in front of you''?
"Would you like if someone else, who doesn't know you and have never met you before, looked at you and told you that you're and ugly f*****g pig and you should hang yourself?'' Yes it touches me, but I learnt to get over it.
"However, some others get affected much more… For real… Your carelessly thoughtlessly, irresponsibly thrown words would often stay with the person forever and grown into a monster that eventually could eat them alive.
"My problem is that I forgive you all and still have love for you, because I love people, I believe in humanity and I believe we can change this."
Katya said: "Please remember: Nothing that anyone says defines who you actually are."
Nicola today admitted she was "frustrated" about being axed from Strictly despite testing negative for coronavirus, but confirmed The Sun's story she WILL return for one last dance in the final.
BBC bosses are now planning for the pair to have an extended dance during the final.
