Wells Adams Shuts Down Rumor He's Next Bachelor Host: Chris Harrison 'Isn't Going Anywhere'

Wells Adams has no plans to take over Chris Harrison's role as host of The Bachelor.

The beloved Bachelor in Paradise bartender, 36, spoke exclusively to People (the TV show!) on Tuesday to put to rest rumors that he'll replace Harrison, 49, who is building a home in Texas.

"It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard," Adams said of the speculation.

He continued, "First of all, Chris isn't going anywhere. He's got the best job in Hollywood. Tom Hanks would agree that he has the best job in Hollywood. He's not going anywhere."

"And I know that everyone's like, well, he's moving to Texas. Guess what, everybody? It's a travel show. He can live in Timbuktu and still do the show," the Bachelorette alum added. "They only film a week and a half in Agoura Hills. The rest of the show is off everywhere else."

The Bachelor and The Bachelorette typically begin filming at a mansion in Malibu, Calif. and then the lead and contestants travel around the world for dates.

Catch People (the TV show!) Monday through Friday. Check your local listings for exact times or stream the show every day at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT at People.com and PeopleTV.com.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' season of The Bachelorette filmed at La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs, Calif., whereas Bachelor Matt James filmed at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Penn.

"He's not going anywhere nor do I want him to go anywhere," Adams continued of Harrison's role. "He's the cornerstone of Bachelor Nation. And I don't wish that upon anybody trying to fill those shoes."

Although Adams isn't gunning for Harrison's job, he's always available to act as a co-host, he said. "I like just being the co-host at these silly athletic dates. That seems more up my alley," he declared.

The BAP bartender is also "very excited to mix drinks" for Victoria Larson "if she doesn't get engaged at the end of this thing."

Larson, 38,  has stirred up a lot of drama on James' season of The Bachelor. "Her shtick is she's outspoken and she's going to let you know how she feels. I love her. I think she's amazing television," Adams said.

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
