'The Challenge': Big T Fazakerley Clarifies Why She Felt Betrayed by CT Tamburello

The Challenge 36 stars Big T Fazakerley and CT Tamburello stole the first half of the season with their adorable friendship and unique partnership. However, CT bluntly switched partners, upsetting the UK native. Following the episode, Big T clarified why she felt betrayed by her former teammate.

Big T Fazakerley and CT Tamburello partnered during ‘The Challenge 36’

During the premiere episode, veteran CT Tamburello chose Ashley Mitchell as a partner over Kam Williams. The decision would backfire as Kam teamed up with the Big Brother alliance to send CT and Ashley into the first elimination.

However, their plan didn’t work as it ended up being a girls’ day, and rookie Natalie Anderson eliminated Ashley. The following week, Big T Fazakerley, at the time partnered with newbie Joseph Allen, devised a plan to throw her teammate into elimination so she could partner with someone else.

It worked, and the UK native ended up paired with CT. After the decision to blindside the three-time champ into the first elimination backfired, the others attempted to block CT from getting his gold skull by refusing to vote him in again.

Therefore, he had to win a daily mission to throw himself into elimination to earn his ticket to the finals.

Big T hurt by the way he chose Kam Williams as a new teammate

However, the veteran thought he didn’t have a good chance of winning with Big T as a partner until she proved him wrong by outperforming him in a challenge, making them double agents for the week.

As planned, CT threw himself in against Josh “the Goof” Martinez, where he won, stealing the BB winner’s skull. When the three-time champ had the opportunity to switch partners, he emphatically declared he wanted to steal Kam, hurting Big T’s feelings.

The way CT made a big deal about choosing Kam caused the UK native to feel he didn’t enjoy being her partner and faked his happiness when they were teammates.

During a trip to the hot springs, the three-time champ attempted to apologize by sending her champagne and then set up a bonfire for them to talk. They ended up getting into an argument when Big T admitted she felt “used” by her former teammate. 

Big T clarifies why she felt betrayed by CT

Following the episode, the Shipwrecked star explained why she got so upset with CT and felt betrayed. In an Instagram Story, she explained the two developed a strong friendship, and she noted his “caring” spirit when helping her through challenges that included her fear of heights.

Therefore, Big T said she didn’t expect someone she considered a friend who treated her kindly to flip and “humiliate” her the way she felt CT did. Additionally, she clarified that the “delivery” upset her, not him picking Kam.

The UK native also admitted she thought the apology was “staged” and considered it “insensitive” because she felt he didn’t care about her feelings. When Big T accused her former teammate of “using” her, she explained she believed he used their friendship for a storyline and didn’t genuinely care about her.

Her feelings toward CT have seemingly changed as the UK native still referred to him as a friend. The Challenge 36 airs Wednesdays at 8/7 Central on MTV.
