The Chase fans were gutted at the end of Friday's episode of the ITV game show as the contestants lost out on mega money.
Annette and Jim were the only two players to make it through to the last round.
Jim had made a staggering £46,000 after taking Chaser Anne Hegerty's high offer and Annette made £4,000 during her round.
This meant the team were playing for an astounding £50,000 between them.
The duo managed to gain a 13 step lead ahead of Anne before the nail-biting last round.
However, Anne was on top form and caught the team with 51 seconds remaining.
Viewers watching were gutted for the team as they lost the life-changing sum and went home with nothing.
They took to Twitter as one fan wrote: "Absolutely gutted! Jim really should of played a different day!
"He was amazing!"
Another penned: "Well that was short, bye".
"The contestants questions were so hard", added a third.
Earlier this week, a The Chase contestant left fans in hysterics after messing up on an animal-related question.
Will suffered the hilarious blunder during the quick-fire round before he went on to face Chaser Paul Sinha.
Host Bradley Walsh asked: "What animals are measured in hands to the top of their withers?"
And Will hilariously guessed: "Birds?"
Bradley thankfully managed to contain his laughter until the quick-fire round was over, but once Will squared up to The Sinnerman he couldn't resist teasing Will for his slip-up.
"I wouldn't like to see the size of your birds!" he laughed.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
