AceShowbizHum drummer Bryan St. Pere has died aged 52.

His passing was announced on Thursday (01Jul21) by Matt Talbott, Tim Lash, and Jeff Dimpsey – St. Pere’s bandmates in the alternative rock group.

“It is with very heavy hearts and tear filled eyes that we share the news that our beloved friend and bandmate, Bryan St. Pere, has passed away,” the statement read.

“We are devastated and deeply saddened by his sudden, and unexpected passing. Bryan was a dear friend, a loving father, brother, and was an incredible person and musician. We all feel extremely lucky to have shared time and space with him. Peace and love to all who knew Bryan, and those he touched. We will miss him dearly.”

They did not reveal a cause of death.

St. Pere joined Hum in 1990 – a year after the group was formed – when original drummer Jeff Kropp left. They released four albums before disbanding in 1998, after which St. Pere pursued a career in healthcare.

However, he joined his bandmates on stage at various reunion events and for the creation of 2020 album “Inlet” – their first record in over two decades.

He was also a member of Indiana-based band Amblare.

Last year in an interview, St. Pere talked about his band Hum, “We’re kind of an uptight band. We don’t go into the studio to drink beers, and record rock and then leave. We’re a little bit meticulous and, me especially, tend to overthink things. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to not suck.”
