14 Best Coffee Subscriptions 2021 | The Sun UK
COFFEE goes by many names: a mean cup of Joe, java, brew – but whatever you call it, it's got to keep us lively, and be super tasty.
So we set out to find the most affordable, tastiest, most exciting and best coffee subscriptions on the market right now.
But why a coffee subscription? Plainly, you get a wide variety of tasty coffee delivered straight to your door whenever and wherever you want – it saves you going to the shops, and ultimately saves your pennies, too.
We all know the feeling when your coffee runs out, and you can't be bothered to head out to the shops – with a coffee subscription, it saves you the hassle and you can get it delivered as often as you like.
How do coffee subscriptions work?
The great things about coffee subscriptions is that they are super flexible – each company or brand is a little different, but in general you can order coffee that gets delivered straight to your door when it suits you.
Be it weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or less often – choose from an array of coffee styles and flavours, and the great thing is that you can usually hit pause when you're stocked up.
1. We tried: Pact
- Pact coffee subscription, from £6.95 per bag – buy here
Make a pact with yourself to never drink a rubbish cup of coffee again – step away from the shop-bought instant, and say hello to Pact.
It is simple to create your coffee plan with Pac; just select from three unique coffee ranges, your preferred brewing method, how often you want to receive it, and rest easy knowing that you can hit pause or cancel at any time with no questions asked.
You don't even need to settle with the same coffee on repeat, either – you can choose to shake up your morning coffee routine with different, seasonal, hand-picked ranges for a few quid extra.
We tried Pact's House Coffee blend, as well as a hand-picked selection from its most popular plan, Select. It also came with a super cool V60 brewing set (if you act fast now and subscribe, you can get a free one with your purchase) which we'd never used before.
The V60 was really easy to use with the straightforward supplied instructions and its seriously tasty House Coffee. Simply pop a filter in, rinse it with just-off-the-boil water, pop in a scoop of Pact's House blend, and pour water over and into your favourite mug. It was really easy to wash afterwards, too.
Pact's coffee filled our flat with glorious smells, and tasted fantastic. The House Coffee we opted for was a dark roast, with sweet notes of chocolate, and was super fresh – only being roasted the week before it was delivered.
We were really impressed with Pact's ethically-sourced coffee selection and knowledge, as well as with the clear instructions supplied in the subscription package for how to correctly use the V60 brewing kit. Now, excuse us while we make room in our cupboards for more…
2. We tried: BestCoffee

We tried their July subscription box and were blown away by the variety of coffee on offer. Three unique, indie brewers were hand-selected for this box, and we hadn't heard of any of them… which was seriously new for us!
We opted for the whole bean subscription for our bean grinder, and loved all three types and blends that were picked for that month's box – especially the coffee from female-ran London-based coffee company, Girls Who Grind.
It really hit home for us that BestCoffee has indie coffee roasters' best interests at heart by raising the profile of the freshest, most exciting names in the industry. Great work!

Are coffee subscriptions worth it?
We think so – we've all been caught out when you stumble to the kitchen before work and discover there's no coffee, with no time to head to the shops.
A coffee subscription means that you have a constant flow of coffee, when it suits you – whether you have a coffee machine, cafetière, AeroPress, bean grinder, or something else entirely.
You can choose a whole range of coffee types, too – including pods, ground coffee, whole bean, decaf, and more.
With a subscription, you usually get access to exclusive coffees, or some from new brands and new countries that you've never sampled from – it's a constant learning experience.
Some coffee subscriptions even come with extra goodies, like snacks or magazines, so that every single box is ticked.
How to cancel a coffee subscription
Usually, each brand has an option to extend the time between your deliveries, if you find your cupboards are overflowing or you need a break.
Or, you can always hit pause – most subscriptions offer the chance to do that if you want to give yourself time to have a think.
Otherwise, to cancel a coffee subscription, each company is different – but your best bet is to contact the customer services team from the brand you bought the subscription from, and they will happily sort it for you.
How much are coffee subscriptions?
The great thing is that there is a range of coffee subscriptions to suit absolutely everyone's styles, tastes and budget.
Usually, they start from under a tenner per delivery and the top end of the spectrum is usually around £25-30 a month – but each brand has a different pricing system according to how often you choose to get your coffee delivered.
But don't worry about having to do all the scrolling – we've done that for you in our round-up of the best coffee subscriptions available on the market right now. Happy sippin'!
