Two of the top three midfielders in Dream Team appear in less than 1% of teams
Bruno Fernandes (£6.8m) is the best midfielder Dream Team has to offer right now.
Man United’s talisman has 27 points to his name after his hat-trick against Leeds in Game Week 1.
As you would expect, the Portugal international is tremendously popular – his ownership of 65.2% is the highest of all players, just edging out Mohamed Salah (£6.3m).

The best midfielder being the most popular is perfectly logical.
However, what’s amusing is that the two next best midfielders hardly feature in any teams at all.
Anwar El Ghazi (£2.4m) scored two goals and provided two assists against Barrow on Tuesday night as Aston Villa thrashed their League Two opponents 6-0 in the Carabao Cup.
Add in the 26-year-old’s penalty against Newcastle at the weekend and we’re looking at a 22-point haul this Game Week.
It’s a similar story for Dream Team’s third-best midfielder, Jack Harrison (£2.9m).
The Leeds winger assisted Kalvin Phillips’ (£2.5m) opener against Crewe before scoring twice at Elland Road as the Whites secured their place in third round.
After blanking against Man United and Everton, Harrison banked 20 points on Tuesday night to propel himself up the rankings.
El Ghazi appears in 0.2% of teams while Harrison is only marginally more popular with an ownership of 0.7%.
Now, we’re not saying you should rush to transfer the pair into your XI as basing your strategy on performances against lower league opposition in one of the domestic cups is obviously foolish.
However, El Ghazi and Harrison’s midweek efforts provide a welcome reminder to Dream Team bosses.
Premier League games may be the bread and butter of Dream Team but making the most of the additional competitions is absolutely vital.
Your players will generally produce more points in the European competitions as the top assets tend to be rested for domestic cup games, particularly the early rounds, but you should keep an eye out for teams who seem to be taking the Carabao Cup seriously.
Marcelo Bielsa named a strong team against Crewe but Raphina (£2.9m) wasn’t involved – if Harrison continues to play cup games then he may well emerge as a better option than the Brazilian.
Just keep telling yourself: don’t ignore the cups, don’t ignore the cups, don’t ignore the cups…
