Good Morning Britain was hosted by Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis on Monday morning. The ITV presenters informed viewers about the top stories of the day, however some were left distracted by Martin’s remembrance poppy. After receiving some complaints about the way he was wearing the poppy, Martin adjusted it, but hit out at those who had highlighted the issue.

Both Susanna and Martin were wearing the Royal British Legion’s symbol of remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.

However, some viewers noticed the leaf on Martin’s poppy wasn’t being worn at the correct angle.

Upon realising Martin’s error some viewers highlighted the issue and complained to the presenter.

“Another frustrating year of watching upside-down poppy leaves. Why has no one designed this out of them? #gmb,” @crowther_sue wrote on Twitter.

After receiving complaints, Martin addressed the issue live on-air and assured viewers he’d rectified the problem.

However, he couldn’t help but take a swipe at those who had written in to complain.

The presenter began: “Someone got in touch to say that my poppy leaf should be at 11 o’clock not seven o’clock.

“Now, the British Legion says what counts – there’s no specific rule and what counts is that you wear it with pride.

“But, if you’re really so bothered about where my leaf was, just to make you happy I’ve moved it anyway,” Martin told viewers.
