Missing 17-year-old girl and man arrested after 'police van altercation' left them injured at Perth railway station

A TEENAGER and man have been arrested after an alleged altercation in a police van in Perth that left them both in serious condition in hospital.

The 17-year-old girl was reported missing by family more than 300 miles away in Staffordshire but was found by cops at about 11.15am yesterday.

It is understood police swooped on a Perth to Inverness train at platform seven.

The pair were taken from the train by uniformed officers and led to a waiting police vehicle for transport to the city’s police HQ, approximately half a mile away.

There was then an incident in the police van, during which both sustained injuries.

They were rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment and later released.

Cops confirmed today they had been arrested.
