Donald Trump mistook South Korean president for North Korean official during phone call and started berating him about nukes
DONALD Trump got his wires crossed and apparently started blasting the president of SOUTH KOREA about his country's "nukes".
The US president is said to have laid into President Moon Jae-in over the phone after mixing up his Koreas, it's been revealed.
Trump claimed on Saturday, when asked about North Korea, that "they, by the way, called up a couple of days ago".
The president said the person on the phone told him: '''We would like to talk.' And I said, 'So would we, but you have to de-nuke, you have to de-nuke'."
But the White House has now revealed Trump has NOT had a phone call from the rogue regime.
A National Security Council official has now told Yonhap news he was actually referring to a call with the South Korean leader.
During the call, Moon is said to have briefed Trump on recent developments related to diplomatic relations with Kim Jong-un.
Both leaders said "any dialogue must be conducted with the explicit and unwavering goal of complete, verifiable, and irreversible denuclearisation," the official said.
"President Trump did not have a call with the North Koreans," he added.

Moon also told Trump in the phone call about his plan to send an envoy to Pyongyang.
His ten-member delegation arrived in Pyongyang on Monday and met with Kim, the first time the reclusive leader has met with South Korean officials since taking power in December 2011.
Seoul has said the delegation's visit is aimed at improving inter-Korean ties and brokering denuclearisation talks between Washington and Pyongyang.
