Man Utd favourites to sign Villarreal teenage defender Adrian Corral for academy
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly closing in on the signing of Spanish prodigy Adrian Corral.
Super Deporte claims the 16-year-old is on the brink of moving to Old Trafford from Villarreal.
Corral has apparently told the La Liga giants he will not be penning his professional contract with them.
And it appears he will be going to United to continue his development at the academy run by Nicky Butt.
However, the Red Devils will have to pay compensation for Corral, who has spent the last four years at Villarreal.
He is a versatile centre-back who can also play at left-back.

Meanwhile, SunSport understands United are ready to battle Real Madrid for Porto star Eder Militao.
The right-back can also play centrally and has a release clause of £42.5million in his contract.
However, United will be left red-faced if they do sign Militao for that price, with Jose Mourinho passing up on the Brazilian last summer when he was available for just £3m at Sao Paulo.
