Lewis Hamilton celebrates winning Formula One world championship by going on the piste

LEWIS HAMILTON has been on cloud nine since winning a record fourth F1 world title last year.

And the British speedster has spent his winter break flying through the air as these photos demonstrate.

Last week, Hamilton headed to Japanese mountains where he showed off his impressive snowboarding skills.

The 33-year-old spent the time under the watchful eye of world-class riders Kevin Backstrom, Tor Lundstrom and Halldor Helgason.

Mercedes allow their championship-winning driver to undertake adrenaline sports in his down time.

Hamilton said: “It was so good to be able to go on a trip like this at start of 2018.

“It was so enjoyable to hang out with some incredible athletes and push my skills on a board – the perfect preparation for the F1 season ahead.”
