Mikel Arteta set to bring Brentford goalkeeper coach Inaka Cana Pavon with him to Arsenal – The Sun
MIKEL ARTETA'S first signing at Arsenal could be Brentford's goalkeeping coach Inaka Cana Pavon, according to reports.
The Spaniard's appointment at the Emirates is set to be made official on Friday afternoon before taking his first training session on Monday.
And he will waste little time reshuffling his backroom staff with a host of new faces coming in to help salvage their season.
One Arsenal fan and former shareholder of the club known as DarrenArsenal1 on Twitter wrote: "Being told one of the new staff is Inaka Cana Pavon."
His tweet appeared to be confirmed by The Athletic's David Ornstein who added: "From Brentford, very highly rated."
Pavon joined Brentford from FC Nordsjælland in 2018 and has previously worked at Barcelona's academy.
He also created his own goalkeeper academy in Barca six years ago.
Arsenal are still working out Arteta’s full backroom staff but hope Freddie Ljungberg, 42, will stay as part of the coaching team.
