Phillip Schofield’s positive coronavirus test threw ITV into chaos last week as he was forced to miss This Morning and he may now be unable to host Dancing on Ice on Sunday. However, it’s been reported Stephen Mulhern will be presenting the latest instalment of the competition with Holly Willoughby.

An insider told The Mirror: “While Phil is off recovering, Stephen was delighted to be asked to step in to fill his shoes and present alongside Holly.

“He gets on with everyone so bosses are more than happy for him to step up.

“Everyone’s wishing Phil a quick recovery and hoping to see him back in his rightful place later this month.”

A representative for Dancing on Ice declined to comment on Sunday’s show.

“Currently just a slightly sore throat,” the This Morning presenter added.

Despite Stephen reportedly replacing Phillip on Sunday, ITV has yet to confirm whether the This Morning presenter will miss the show.

Current Covid rules in England state that those who tested positive for coronavirus can leave isolation after five days.

However, this is only if lateral flow tests produce a negative result on days five and six.

Phillip was forced to miss This Morning this week with viewers being treated to a shake-up of hosts.

Rochelle Humes had been stepping in for Holly, who took a two-week break from This Morning to film BBC’s Superstar Survival.

The Saturdays star was joined by Alison Hammond and Vernon Kay this week while Holly returned to host with Josie Gibson on Thursday.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary took up their usual Friday slot.
