THE tension shows on Vicky McClure’s face as she tries to defuse a bomb in a bag in Trigger Point.

But Vicky, 38, who plays Met Police explosives expert Lana Washington, can celebrate off screen as the show is ITV’s highest ratings drama in a year — pulling in nearly 10million for its first episode.

Tonight’s bomb is fixed to a door and Lana’s boyfriend, DI Thom Youngblood, screams a warning to her.

With seconds left on the clock, DI Youngblood, played by Mark Stanley, 33, screams at her : “You need to get out now!”

The series executive producer is Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio.
