Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall will be a Queen Consort once Prince Charles becomes King, it has been announced. The Queen used her Platinum Jubilee day to share the news with royal fans, many of whom were delighted. Today, the Duchess of Cornwall made her first royal outing up in Bath.

She visited a school called Roundhill Primary School, in Southdown, Bath where she joined in with students during their lessons.

But what was Camilla’s body language like as she approached the school with children waving their Union Jacks?

Body language expert Judi James spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the Duchess of Cornwall on Tuesday, February 8.

Judi said: “There is a modest shift in Camilla’s signals of confidence here as she makes her first public appearance since being confirmed as the next Queen of England.

“Her body language looks more active as she bends over the fence to communicate with the line of children waiting to see her.

“As she chats she is laughing with the children sitting inside the school.

“There is even a hint of the kind of gentle comedy the Queen often uses to get people around her laughing as Camilla pats the tree she has ‘planted’.

“But the subtler, signature signals of inner anxiety and awkwardness might take longer to fade from her repertoire.

“There is the small self-comfort pat of the hair, the way she sits so still and upright as she talks to the children at the table rather than relaxing and joining in their project.

“Then there is the uncertainty who to give the shovel to after she has finished putting the earth around its roots.

“The Queen would never look uncertain about her choreography.

“Small, difficult moments like this will clearly be something Camilla will need to iron out before she takes on the role.”

Camilla was all smiles in her beautiful tartan blazer and matching tartan skirt as she greeted the crowds of royal fans outside the school in Bath today.

Her skirt was ankle length with two rows of frills circling the bottom of the skirt.

Camilla appeared to be wearing a pretty white blouse underneath the blazer which looked lovely on the Duchess.

She also accompanied the look with some black leather gloves, which was perfect by the time Camilla was helping schoolchildren plant trees.

The Duchess wore pale pink lipstick amid natural-looking makeup with her usual bob hairstyle that glistened in the wind.

She looked so happy to be greeted by the school children who were all equally excited to see Camilla.

Once inside, the royal joined a range of classes with the excited pupils.

This included a ‘Language for Life’ session with a group of three-year-olds and the Sunbeam’s Early Years Classroom.
