Who is Alec Baldwins wife Hilaria? Everything you need to know as they share baby news
Alec Baldwin is married to American yoga instructor, health specialist, and producer, Hilaria Baldwin.
And the couple recently announced they were expecting their seventh child together.
Hilaria, 38, announced the news — which came as a "surprise" she said — on Instagram as she posted a clip of herself sitting at home with Alex telling their six children they would be welcoming another sibling.
The news comes just a short time after actor Alec reportedly fired a prop gun while on a movie set in New Mexico, which killed a director of photography by accident.
Halyna Hutchins was rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds to the stomach, but was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital in Albuquerque.
The film's director Joel Souza is also said to have been injured as a result of the shooting, but was later released from hospital. According to reports, the 48 year old was shot in the shoulder.
The shooting took place Thursday 21 October on the set for Alec’s upcoming movie, Rust.
Alec and his wife met in outside a New York City restaurant in 2011 and married the year after in 2012. The pair live in New York's East Hamptons with their children.
Alec and Hilaria share six children together: daughters Carmen Gabriela, 8, and María Lucía Victoria, 7 months, plus sons Rafael Thomas, 6, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 5, Romeo Alejandro David, 3, and Eduardo "Edu" Pao Lucas, 13 months.
Hilaria shared a photo of her posing with six children, writing: "Grateful for these little humans who I feel lucky to call me 'mama' and every day I miss the ones that I lost."
Alec, 63, also shares daughter Ireland Baldwin, 25, with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.
In 2020, Hilaria was accused of faking her Spanish accent and revealed to actually have grown up in Boston.
“You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade-long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person,” one Twitter user wrote.
In a 2018 profile,Hola! magazinedescribes her as “born in Spain” speaking Spanish as her native language.
However, it has since been confirmed that while her parents do live in Mallorca, they only have since 2011.
It’s also believed that she attended a US high school and went by the name of Hilary before deciding to change it.
She has defended her ever changing accent saying that it fluctuates as a result of being bilingual.
Hilaria has since admitted that “there’s some stuff that needs to be clarified,” and although she was “born in Boston,” she is also “a different kind of Bostonian,” one who spent “some of her childhood in Spain.”
She added: “Yes I am a white girl … Europe has a lot of white people in there. My family is white. Ethnically I am a mix of many, many, many things; culturally, I grew up with the two cultures. So it’s really as simple as that.”
Alec has defended his wife, writing on Twitter: “She was born in Boston but grew up in Spain. You got it?”
