GARDENING may seem easy but it can end up being overwhelming if you have no idea what to do.
An enthusiast has revealed the five things she wished she had known when she first began working on her garden.
BUYING PLANTS IS BETTER
Taking to social media, an ambassador for Brad's Deals, which highlights everyday sales, said: "Growing from seeds is more budget-friendly but time-consuming while buying plants is more expensive but it allows for more wiggle room in your schedule."
However, if you do decide to start your garden from the ground up (pun intended), you'll want to start them off inside if you live in a colder climate.
Once the weather warms up, you can move them outside.

If you're looking for more variety, you might want to shop for seeds or plants online.
She swears by gardening stores like Park Seed, Breck's, and Burpee.
However, the expert warned against purchasing plants off Amazon because you can't always verify the quality or age of the plant.

"The key with buying tools and accessories is looking for quality," she revealed.

If you're looking to start your garden and have no idea what to do, the expert revealed that you might want to purchase perennials because they are considered "one and done plants."
This means that once you plant them, they'll come back on their own each season.
She also listed herbs, fruits, and vegetables as starter plants because, not only are they easy to maintain, but they'll provide you with food.
AVOID PACKETS
"Avoid wildflower seed packets," she noted.
