Johnny Depp performs at Londons Royal Albert Hall before Amber Heard trial verdict
Johnny Depp surprised British fans as he took to the stage in London on Monday night, a day after performing in Sheffield alongside his longtime friend and music collaborator Jeff Beck.
Having spent the past six weeks in a Fairfax County, Virginia courthouse, Johnny, 58, opted for a change of scenery as he was pictured rocking out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall with Beck, for the second night in a row.
The star was seen letting loose just days after closing arguments were heard in the $100million libel lawsuit he launched against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Gone were Johnny's smart jackets, colourful waistcoats and patterned ties that he had sported in recent weeks as he donned a striped coat, scarves around his neck and beret atop his unkempt locks.
One concert-goer couldn't believe her luck at Johnny's stage performance, telling The Guardian: "I have always been a massive fan of his. My other half took me to this gig just to see Jeff Beck – I had no idea Johnny would be playing.
"It was brilliant, such a fantastic night in general. Johnny Depp smashed it. I'll die happy [that] I've been in the same room as him now."
Fans were equally excited the night before as Johnny performed in Sheffield, with one person gushing: "I jumped out of the bath and went to Sheffield City Hall when I heard Johnny Depp was there."
The star has been embroiled in a defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber, who has accused him of repeatedly abusing her both with physical and sexual violence during the course of their marriage. Johnny has denied the claims.
Amber's op-ed piece for The Washington Post, which was published in 2018 and referred to the "domestic violence" the Aquaman actress claimed she had suffered., is at the centre of the legal battle. Amber didn't name Johnny in the piece.
Johnny is suing his ex-wife for $50million in damages though, and Amber, 36, is counter-suing for $100million.
The trial ended with closing arguments from both sides' lawyers on Friday 27 May, and the jury went into deliberation.
The jurors are expected to reach a verdict in the next few days,
On 27 May 2016, Amber took out a temporary restraining order against her former spouse but later withdrew her claim he had abused her.
The former couple, who were only married for 16 months, then agreed to a $7million divorce settlement in 2017.
Both stars are claiming defamation and have gone into detail over how their careers have suffered since Amber's op-ed and Johnny's lawyer Adam Waldman's comments about Amber.
