Love Island: Amber’s mum URGES her to couple up with Ovie and hopes she doesn’t return to Michael

Amber Gill’s mum has revealed how she doesn’t approve of Michael Griffiths and she instead wants her daughter to couple up with Ovie Soko.

Amid a dramatic week in the villa, which has seen Amber break down in tears over Michael’s behaviour towards her, Amber’s mum backed a romance between her daughter and the basketball star.

Amber’s mum Vanessa appeared on This Morning as she was quizzed on the latest drama by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford alongside Amber’s best friend Martin.

“I think Amber will realise that now. I don’t think she’ll go back with him, I hope she doesn’t,” Amber’s mum said.

“Because of the whole way I think he’s played it. He hasn’t been upfront with her. He’s been a little bit holding himself back, I don’t know whether he’s playing a little bit of a game.

“But I think he should’ve been honest with her when she opened up her feelings to him when they went to that night out.”

Amber’s BFF Martin added: “If he [Michael] really had those feelings for Joanna, he would’ve just walked the other night. And I just thought ‘Why are you staying?’”

Vanessa also revealed that Amber is a “slow burner” when it comes to a relationships, and that’s she’s hoping she will eventually get together with Ovie.

“She [Amber] is a slow burner and I think it takes time for her to warm up to somebody and given time I think she probably will with Ovie, because he’s just been so respectful.

“He’s supported her 100 percent.”
