BBC One has made changes to its daytime schedule for the rest of the day as concern grows for the health of The Queen.
The flagship channel suddenly cut from its Thursday's episode of Bargain Hunt to cover the breaking story.
Bargain Hunt, in which two teams are given £300 to hunt for the best bargains to sell at auction, was halted just before 12.40pm.

20 minutes before the usual 1 o'clock news was due to begin, viewers were watching as one of the Bargain Hunt presenters held an umbrella above his head and joked about 'the rain and the damp', before it suddenly changed to a black screen.
BBC News presenter Joanna Gosling then appeared to break the news.
She said: "Welcome to viewers on BBC One.
"We have had news from Buckingham Palace that the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral.
"Doctors have become concerned for her health and, she is now under the supervision of doctors.
"It is understood she is comfortable and immediate family members have been informed."
The rest of the day's schedule has also been altered to cover the breaking news up until 7pm this evening.
Doctors and other upcoming shows have been moved to BBC Two.
A statement was issued by Buckingham Palace on Thursday (September 8) afternoon regarding Her Majesty.
It read: "Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.
"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."
The announcement comes after the Queen, 96, pulled out of a meeting of her Privy Council on Wednesday, with doctors advising her to rest.
There are clearly pressing concerns for the Queen's health – much more explicitly put than before and without any reference to this only being about difficulties with mobility.
There are also warnings against unfounded speculation, such as that she might have had a fall. And on Tuesday she was on her feet and photographed smiling as she appointed the new prime minister.
But from the last-minute cancellation of what would only have been a virtual meeting of the Privy Council – of senior ministers – there is no mistaking the fragility of the Queen's health.
