8am transfer news LIVE: Manchester United want Douglas Costa, Wolves loan Vallejo, Joao Mario to Brighton – The Sun

THE Premier League transfer window closes in less than two weeks!

And we could be in for some incredible deals as Man City target Kylian Mbappe while Gareth Bale's time at Real Madrid is coming to an end.

Check out ALL of the latest updates from what could be a huge summer in the transfer market below…

  • LEICESTER are demanding Manchester United make a bigger down payment on Harry Maguire – because they have doubts whether the club can do well enough to trigger their proposed bonus payments.

United are hoping to finally complete a deal for the England defender this week and are likely to have to come up with a package worth £80million.

They had offered £72m with extra bonuses paid depending on what trophies they win and also securing Champions League football.

But according to the Mail, the Foxes are not confident United can finish in the top four this season so they are looking for more money up front.

  • ASTON VILLA have been told Tom Heaton will cost them £10million.

Boss Dean Smith has targeted the England keeper to compete as number one following their promotion to the Premier League.

But Villa insist Burnley must drop the price for the 33-year-old stopper.

Turf Moor chief Sean Dyche also has Nick Pope and Joe Hart and is willing to sell one for the right fee.

Heaton has one year left on his contract and no extension has been agreed with the former Manchester United man.

Sun Sport revealed Villa made a £7m bid for the wantaway star who is unhappy about contract talks at Turf Moor.

  • EXCLUSIVE by Alan Nixon: CRYSTAL PALACE have been approached by agents for two Chinese clubs with offers for £32million striker Christian Benteke.

The Eagles would sell the Belgian, 28, but know they could only get around £15m for him.

And that would leave boss Roy Hodgson without any first-choice strikers with time running out in the window, so Palace may have to say ‘no’.

Meanwhile, Eagles transfer supremo Dougie Freedman has inquired about Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr.

Freedman first spotted 21-year-old Sarr playing for Senegal in the World Cup and has tracked him since.

The forward, who is also a target for Watford, is available for around £30m.

  • NEWCASTLE boss Steve Bruce is plotting a £5million bid for Everton’s forgotten man James McCarthy.

Brucie needs extra options and the Republic of Ireland midfielder, 28, is available for a knock-down fee.

McCarthy is entering the last year of his deal and the Toffees are trying to find a buyer, with Crystal Palace also interested.

But the Toon may try to swoop for the player, who has been hit by injuries.

McCarthy would also fancy a move and a new chance in the Premier League after a frustrating spell on Merseyside.

Bruce is also looking at Brazilian Marrony at Vasco da Gama but Toon would have to pay a huge fee to help his work permit hopes.

  • MANCHESTER UNITED want Juventus winger Douglas Costa in part-exchange for Romelu Lukaku, reports say.

The Mail claim Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has switched attention to Costa after the Brazil star's Juve team-mate Paulo Dybalarebuffed United.

Serie A champions Juventus have overtaken Inter Milan in the race to sign Lukaku but want to balance their books.

Tottenham have also been linked with Dybala – but both the Argentina frontman and Costa are hesitant to leave the Allianz Arena.

Solskjaer, though, is keen to find either a replacement for Lukaku if the Belgium forward leaves before the August 31 transfer deadline.

United are already thought to have rejected a £54million bid from Inter for the ex-Chelsea star.
