Olivia Hawkins transformation from secret Love Island appearance to 2023 series new look

Series 9 of the winter Love Island series kicked off back in Jan, with Maya Jama making her presenting debut in replacement of Laura Whitmore.

So far, we’ve seen plenty of drama, including Islander Jessie going off-script during the Knowing Me, Knowing You task, and viewers calling out Movie Night after the episode was not what they expected – all while the contestants bask in the sunshine of their Cape Town villa.

But for many eagle-eyed fans out there, there may have been something else (or someone else, should we say) you may have recognised from a previous stint on the show.

27 year old Olivia Hawkins, who made her debut as a contestant last week, had viewers in a frenzy about where they knew her from – aside from her recent appearance in Eastenders.

Well, as it turns out, we’ve got a (sort of) serial Love Islander taking part in the show. It comes as a resurfaced clip from 2019’s series 5 has been doing the rounds, where Olivia can be spotted in a VT, even though it’s just for a blink-of-an-eye moment.

During the previous series, she appeared in a scene with former contestant Joe Garratt, where she was seen flirting with him at a food truck.

While this might seem pretty random, Olivia’s day job makes it make more sense. Away from the South African villa, she’s actually an actress and ring girl, and as well as Love Island and Eastenders (she also worked on the soap as a double for Whitney Dean), Olivia has a string of other credits to her name.

From playing a waitress in a Daniel Craig James Bond movie to brushing shoulders with Jason Statham in another film, the Islander has also taken on some body double work for Michelle Keegan, too. Not to mention being a stand-in for none other than Emma Watson.

Despite her small feature back in the Molly-Mae x Tommy fury Love Island era, Olivia has definitely made her mark in 2023, and not just in terms of her striking new look.

From day one, she’s already caused plenty of drama following her choice to steal Kai Fagan from Anna-May Robey when it came to the initial coupling.

Of course, we know now that the move backfired as Kai ended up stepping forward for hair salon owner Tanyel Revan while Olivia paired up with Will Young (no, not the 2002 Pop Idol winner) who was the only single left.

Love Island airs every night on ITV2, and is available via catch up on ITVX and BritBox.
