EastEnders Keanu Taylor caught up in dodgy dealings

Lorraine: Cheryl Baker was ‘turned down’ for Eastenders role

Ever since he returned to Albert Square at the end of last year  Keanu Taylor (played by Danny Walters) has made no secret of the fact that he wants to be a good father to his son Albie.

While Albie’s mother Sharon (Letitia Dean) was wary of letting him back into their lives she has softened in recent months.

New EastEnders spoilers confirm Keanu tells Sharon that he wants to get their child christened.

In scenes to be aired next week he also declares he wants to pay for the whole shindig.

However, his commitment to his family does nothing to assuage the serious tension between Sharon and his mother Karen (Lorraine Stanley), who still strongly disapproves of their relationship.

His declarations that he will pay for the christening come in spite of the fact he has struggled financially in recent months having been unable to secure regular work since his homecoming.

When he confides his money troubles in Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths), the cab driver suggests he needs to get a few more jobs.

However, he is still persona non gratia with Phil (Steve McFadden) after his affair with Sharon while she was married to the dodgy businessman so he turns him down flat.

He also has no luck when he approaches Alfie (Shane Richie) for work.

In desperation he talks to Zack Hudson (James Farrar) about restaurant owner Ravi’s (Aaron Thiara) dodgy dealings.

Although Zack warns him against getting involved with the underworld that the former jailbird operates in, a desperate Keanu only sees pound signs.

To Keanu’s delight Ravi agrees to give him a trial run by taking in a dodgy delivery.

However with Jack Branning (Scott Maslan) currently gunning for Ravi it is a very bad time to get involved in anything he does.

Jack has vowed to send Ravi to prison for his criminality after he discovered he seduced his wife Denise (Diane Parish).

Tuesday night’s episode saw the pair have a violent confrontation in the Square after Denise confessed all to her copper husband

Jack had previously been investigating Ravi’s criminal activities but was taken off the case when the dodgy restaurateur started dating his stepdaughter Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams).

A brazen Ravi even joined the mum of one for a family games night in Jack’s family home.

However, despite his personal links to the case it is unlikely Jack will let this go now, which doesn’t bode well for Keanu.

Will he find himself in serious trouble before he manages to see his son christened?

EastEnders is on BBC One at 7.30pm Monday to Thursday.
