UK weather: Yellow wind warning as fierce gales whip Britain threatening power cuts and travel chaos | The Sun
BRITS have been warned of travel chaos and power cuts tomorrow as a yellow weather warning is issued.
Gale force winds and torrential rain are set to batter parts of the UK threatening to rip out power lines and tear down trees.
The notice is in force from 12am until 6pm Friday evening and covers the northwest coast of Wales.
Met Office meteorologists predict the wild weather will spark some travel disruption, with delays to trains and public services.
A spokesperson said: "Delays for high-sided vehicles and caravans on exposed routes and bridges likely.
"Trees and temporary structures such as marquees and tents could be damaged.

"Some short term loss of power and other services is possible."
A heavy band of rain is forecast to arrive on Friday morning, and move across the north east throughout the day.
Other areas of the UK are predicted to be battered by downpours.
In the south east, Brighton and London can expect storms from early afternoon, but they are due to pass through quickly.

Moving north, Birmingham is set to see torrential rain from midday as a band of wet and wild weather moves up across the UK, also hitting Manchester and Newcastle.
Northern Ireland can expect dull and drizzly conditions for most of Friday, while Scotland is forecast to remain fairly dry until around 6pm.
Temperatures will remain in the high teens and low 20Cs across most of the UK, with highs of 23C on the south east coast.
The Met Office outlook for the weekend reads: "Thundery showers dissipating into Saturday to leave a day of sunshine and showers.
"Fresher on Sunday with further showers. Showers becoming isolated Monday. Warm and humid, especially in the southeast."
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Although temperatures are set to pick up this week, an August Bank Holiday heatwave is looking probably unlikely."
This comes after Brits enjoyed basking in glorious summer sunshine earlier this week.
