Love Islands Mitch had no intention to split from Ella as he breaks silence

Love Island star Mitch Taylor has stepped out of the shadows to reveal why his romance with Ella Barnes fizzled into the abyss.

After just weeks of the television show coming to an end, the pair decided to part ways and the reason behind the split leaves room for their flame to possibly rekindle.

Keeping his followers in the loop, the reality TV star took to Instagram to deliver a heartfelt message on why he and Ella called time on their relationship.

He wrote: "As you have most likely seen Ella's post, sadly, our relationship has come to an end."

Mitch continued: "We had no intentions of ending, but with our busy lives at the moment and living on the other side of the country, it made it extremely hard for it to work."

He added: "I wish Ella nothing but the best as she is a lovely girl and deserves the world."

Posting a similar statement, his ex-girlfriend scribed: "Just wanted to come on here and keep you all updated, as you deserve to know as I wouldn’t be where I am without you.

“Unfortunately, myself and Mitch have decided to end our relationship. I really wanted things to work out, and I’m gutted that our journey has come to an end."

She concluded: “I wish Mitch all the best and hope he finds happiness. It’s time for both of us to start a new chapter."

The split comes shortly after his former Island flame, Abi Moores, whom Mitch had previously been coupled with, claimed he' flirted with her behind Ella's back.

She told OK! Magazine: "I do think there is still something there with Mitch – he's still quite flirty, and very close and friendly with me, when I've seen him out at events."

The Islander continued: "I think Ella B is a bit threatened by me saying that we had a better connection – but I'm not going to lie."

Showing she still holds a candle for Mitch, when asked if they could reconcile, she replied: "Never say never."
