Mike Perry poses with heavily bandaged face after suffering gruesome nose injury in UFC Fight Night 156 loss to Vicente Luque – The Sun
MMA star Mike "Platinum" Perry showed off his bandaged face after suffering brutal injuries in his loss to Vicente Luque.
The hardy brawler posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed giving his critics the finger with the caption: "Still cant knock me out."
The American was caught by a flying knee kick from his Brazilian opponent in the final minute of their co-main event UFC Fight Night 156 in Uruguay.
As the two welterweight fighters fell to the canvas, a stream of blood poured from Perry's Z-shaped nose.
Luque, 27, his chest covered in claret, still desperately tried to submit him with a front choke.
But the Michigan-born hero, also 27, somehow managed to survive and the contest went to the judges.
They scored 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 in favour of Luque, even though Perry landed more shots in an extremely close bout.
But despite missing out on a victory by the finest of margins, it is the American brawler who will now be remembered for one of the nastiest nose injuries ever suffered.
UFC president Dana White shared a picture of Perry's massacred face on social media following the fight.
And although some Twitter users jokes his wedding picture will now be ruined, most of them were quick to hail the Michigan warrior.
One wrote: "That man deserves a raise boss. A true asset for the company."
While another added: "Win or lose Perry is a f***ing warrior and entertainer."
A third said: "Pay him all the monies! He won that fight."
Perry was not the only fighter on the receiving end of some brutal battering in Uruguay last night.
Flyweight ace Raulian Paiva needed stitches to patch up a horrific split above his eye following a TKO loss to Rogerio Bontorin.
That’s a beauty!!! ESPN+
