Shoppers are going wild for these air fryer alternatives that are cheaper and healthier to run | The Sun

AIR fryers have been a hot topic in recent years, with a huge rise in sales as people look for healthier and more cost-effective ways to cook food.

But now shoppers are searching for an alternative kitchen appliance that's said to be a better (and cheaper) alternative to air fryers: halogen ovens.

  • Daewoo Healthy Halogen 17L Air Fryer, £38.84 (was £39.99) from Amazon – buy here

Halogen ovens work by releasing infrared heat from bulbs, which is then circulated around a glass bowl by fans, cooking the food in the process.

They use less energy than traditional ovens so may help to reduce your household bills and require less cooking oil or fat.

They're also generally cheaper to buy than air fryers, with prices starting from around £30.
