Ryan Reynolds says he’s ‘going to THROW UP’ after being told how much money he’s lost since taking over at Wrexham | The Sun
RYAN REYNOLDS said he was going to "THROW UP" when he discovered how much money he and co-owner Rob McElhenney had lost since taking over Wrexham.
Reynolds and his Hollywood co-owner took over Wrexham in November 2020 with the club in the National League.
After narrowly missing out on promotion in their first season under the Hollywood co-owners, Wrexham were promoted to League Two last season.
The Hollywood duo initially paid £2million to take over the club during the pandemic – but have since then LOST £10million in their bid to guide Wrexham up the leagues.
The footage was captured as part of the new 'Welcome To Wrexham' series which documents the duos ownership of the club.
After being told the figure by the club's advisor, Shaun Harvey, Reynolds responded by saying: "I'm going to throw up."

A shocked McElhenney asked when the two can start expecting to make money from the club and Harvey's response was: "The value that's coming from the global appeal we've been able to create is going to offset those additional costs that we've created.
"The biggest thing that will change on promotion [is that] people can see the value of Welcome to Wrexham. They can see the value of the profile that's being built. That's when the additional sponsorship revenue can be generated."
Harvey also told the Hollywood ownership that if they were to sell the club now, they would receive a significantly higher fee than the £10m outlay they had sunk into the club.
One area of growth that could lead to the ownership making more money is the huge increase in Wrexham's social media following.

Wrexham's following across social media has risen by over 921% since the takeover.
That has since only been strengthened after the club signed a deal with TikTok in 2021 for the platform to be a front of shirt sponsor.
Within just seven months of joining TikTok in June 2021, the club amassed 100,000 followers. Currently, it has over 1.4 million followers and has received over 16.9 million likes.
In football matters, Wrexham have made an excellent start to life in League Two this season.
The club are currently third in the table on 30 points after 16 matches played, behind last year's promotion rivals Notts County on goal difference.
The club will take on fellow League Two side Mansfield Town in the first round of the FA Cup tomorrow evening away from home.
