AC/DC’s Brian Johnson Teams Up With Foo Fighters At ‘Vax Live’ Concert
AC/DC‘s Brian Johnson teamed up with Foo Fighters for a cover of “Back in Black” at Global Citizen’s “Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.”
“The Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World” concert took place on Sunday, May 2 at Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium.
“Back in Black” is the title song of AC/DC’s seventh studio album. The song was written as a tribute to the band’s former singer Bon Scott, who died in February 1980. In 1981, it reached No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Our goal was to call on leaders to find dollars and doses to make vaccines available everywhere,” said Selena Gomez, who acted as host for the show.
She added that the money already raised through the event from corporations like Cisco and Coca-Cola made it possible to “share millions of vaccines with frontline health workers in the poorest nations, but we need more governments, including all nations from the G7, to step up and commit to sharing vaccines.”
The special also features appearances from Eddie Vedder, Jennifer Lopez, J Balvin and H.E.R., Ben Affleck and Chrissy Teigen among others.
“Vax Live: the Concert to Reunite the World” will air at 8 pm ET on May 8 on YouTube, ABC, ABC News Live, CBS, AXS TV, iHeartMedia radio stations and the iHeartRadio app.
