Boy George, 61, took to Twitter earlier today to express his views on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. The streaming platform released the final three episodes today, sparking debate around the claims made by the couple.
Boy George claimed the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex “overstate their importance” as he observed that the couple seemed “in love”.
He wrote: “Watching #HarryandMeganNetflix it feels like Meghan finally got the movie with Bette Davis but no one warned her?
“They both overstate their importance but I believe they are in love.”
“He seems besotted!” the I’m A Celebrity star added in view of his 504,000 followers.
In a follow-up post, he tweeted: These last episodes of #HarryandMeganNetflix get more interesting. It’s just sad really. Pointless and sad. None of it needed to happen and it should be fixed. Look at Culture Club? Lol!” (sic)
The Culture Club frontman had previously been outspoken on his opinion of the couple, previously blasting their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
He declared “shame” on the US chat show host for not being more rigorous with her questioning of the couple in the special, released in March 2021.
One of Meghan’s claims to Oprah was that a member of the Royal Family had spoken with Harry about what colour the skin of their son Archie would be when he was born.
Meghan, who is mixed race, claimed there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born”.
Boy George reacted to Oprah’s tweet publicising the interview before it was released in full, writing to his 482,000 followers that she should have questioned Meghan’s allegation further.
He said: “Sadly, Meghan wasn’t prepared to tell us who made these alleged comments about Archie’s skin colour?
“I believe she has a responsibility to tell us.

But according to Meghan’s claims in the new episodes, the couple received support from other famous faces at the time of the interview.
The newly released behind the scenes footage shows Meghan reading out a text message that she received from pop superstar Beyonce.
The Crazy In Love singer told the Duchess of Sussex that she believes Meghan was “selected to break generational curses”.
Meghan said: “Beyonce just texted. I still can’t believe she knows who I am.”
Harry joked: “Just checking in, just casual. Go call her.”
Meghan replied: “No it’s ok, she said that she wants me to feel safe and protected, she admires and respects my bravery and she thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”
Harry responded: “That’s well said.”
