DaBaby Begs Drake for Help as He’s Held by Canadian Customs
The ‘Suge’ rapper suggests that Canadian authorities give him a hard time because of his past criminal records, but he promises that he’s a changed man now.
AceShowbiz –DaBaby had a little trouble entering Canada and needed Drake‘s assistance. The Cleveland-born rapper who originated from Charlotte, North Carolina called the Toronto-born superstar for his help after he was held by customs at the Canadian border for three hours.
The 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was visiting the country on Tuesday, December 10 for one of his “Kirk Tour” shows. But hours before the scheduled concert, he revealed on Instagram that he and his crew were still not allowed to enter the country.
Imploring Drizzy to help him, DaBaby posted pictures of him at what looks like an airport while holding his passport. “Somebody call Drake & tell em they done had Baby hemmed up at Customs for 3 hours,” he wrote along with the photos.
“The past is the past, Ima angel now,” he continued, suggesting that he was being held by the authorities because of his past criminal records, which included drug and weapons charges. DaBaby, however, claimed that he’s a changed man now, adding, “We don’t wanna see our rap sheets we here for the #KirkTour #LETUSIN.”
Fortunately, DaBaby eventually made it in time for his tour stop in Toronto. It’s not clear if Drake came to his rescue, but the “Hotline Bling” rapper did come in support of the younger rapper at his Tuesday night concert, during which Drizzy joined DaBabby onstage to praise him on his successful year.
“Look, we don’t say this to each other enough as rappers, but I wanted to say congratulations,” Drake told DaBaby. “You killin’ this s**t.” The two artists shared a friendly hug, before Drake casually announced that he’s working on his new album that hopefully will be released next year. “I love you with all my heart. Imma go back to the crib and try to finish this album up so we can turn up 2020,” he addressed the audience.
DaBabby shared the clip on Instagram and captioned it, “Shared the stage w/ a legend tonight . @champagnepapi.”
