Celebrity Gogglebox star Denise Van Outen has told how she’s been left devastated after thieves broke into her Essex home and went through some of her personal belongings. The former Dancing on Ice contestant, 47, addressed how shocked she was upon learning that the burglars had used social media to work out when she wouldn’t be home before breaking into the property and making off with a very personal item.

Speaking to TV presenter Steph McGovern on her self-titled show Steph’s Packed Lunch today, Denise told how knowing exactly what had been taken had left her with the “worst feeling”.
The Loose Women guest panellist told the Channel 4 presenter: “The worst part for me after that burglary was they took random things, but they also went through my knicker drawer.”
Hinting at the item which was taken from her underwear drawer, Denise joked that it was being flaunted by thieves.
She continued: “So I just know that they have taken… I can’t say what they took, but you can imagine.”
“But there is some fella in a pub – or woman – waving it around!” she added.
Denise went on: “It is the worst feeling.
“Anybody out there who has been burgled, I sympathise with you. It is awful.”
She went on to add that she wanted her “device” back and admitted that she was worried about the lasting impact the burglary would have on her life.
Despite reporting the break-in to the police, the TV star told how the thieves were not caught, which led to her stepping up her home security.
She explained: “They never caught the burglars and I just had to up the security and take those steps towards making my home a safer place and being more aware.”
Denise has been living on her own after ending her relationship with her partner of seven years, Eddie Boxshall.
Last month, Denise announced that she had made the “difficult decision” to split from her fiancé.
She told her 607,000 Instagram followers: “Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.
“It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple.
“I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship,” she added.
Denise went on: “I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made.
“We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children,” she ended her post.
The couple started dating in 2014 after being introduced to each other by a mutual friend.
The Only Way Is Essex narrator was married to stage actor Lee Mead for How Long until their split in 2013.
Together they share a daughter, Betsy Mead.
