Ed Sheeran's 'Subtract' Debuts Atop U.K. Albums Chart
Ed Sheeran‘s latest album – (pronounced Subtract) has debuted atop the U.K. Official Albums Chart.
The singer-songwriter’s sixth studio album has become the fastest-selling album of the year, having sold 76,000 chart units in its opening week. More than 70 percent of sales came from physical copies, while 10 percent credit goes to digital downloads.
It’s also the best-selling vinyl album of the week.
With this, all of Ed Sheeran’s albums have reached the summit of the U.K. Official Albums Chart.
His other chart toppers are + (2011), x (2014), ÷ (2017), No. 6 Collaborations Project (2019) and = (2021).
Until this week, Sheeran and The 1975 were equally sharing the record of No. 1 albums – five each.
Subtract is followed by Nines‘ Crop Circle 2 at No. 2, while an album by TUNDE made its debut in the U.K. Official Albums Chart Top 10 at No. 4.
