Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ Returns To Billboard Hot 100 For First Time Since 1977

Fleetwood Mac‘s “Dreams” has broken into the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time since 1977, riding on a viral TikTok video from Idahoan Nathan Apodaca.

The song re-entered the chart at No. 21, garnering its best-ever weekly U.S. streams and download sales in the tracking week ending October 8. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the song logged 13.4 million streams in the week, up 54% from a week earlier, and 22,000 downloads sold (an increase of 197%).

On the Streaming Songs chart, the song rose to No. 18 from No. 36, and moved 9-3 on Digital Song sales.

“Dreams,” which was written by Stevie Nicks, debuted on the Hot 100 dated April 16, 1977 and hit No. 1 in mid-June that year. It’s last appearance on the chart was on August 20, 1977.

The song’s climb this week has given Fleetwood Mac their highest Hot 100 placement since “Everywhere” ranked at No. 17 on the chart dated February 20, 1988.

The TikTok clip shows Apodaca riding his longboard while drinking a large bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice and lip-synching to lines from “Dreams.”

Mick Fleetwood recreated the clip, and Ocean Spray gifted Apodaca a red pickup truck and a liberal supply of Ocean Spray juice.
