Former Wilhelmina boss joins competitor
The former head of modeling agency Wilhelmina’s men’s division, Taylor Hendrich, has left for a competing agency, the Society, which will launch a new men’s division as part of the move.
“Really excited to have just landed at The Society New York and being part of the Elite World Network,” Hendrich posted on Instagram, referring to the Society’s parent company, Elite.
He’s the latest exec to exit Wilhelmina after we reported in June that a number of agents left its men’s division for the Society.
Wilhelmina CEO Bill Wackermann denied it at the time, telling us, “All men’s team is still employed by Wilhelmina. The performance of the men’s division has suffered significantly for the past three years . . . Hendrich, who formerly led the division, is still employed by Wilhelmina as is his team at this time.”
We also exclusively reported in May that five women’s division employees left for another rival agency, Supreme.
After the workers walked, Wilhelmina filed a $5 million suit against them.
The employees countered in court papers that they left due to a “hostile work environment.”
The lawsuit was discontinued by the parties.
