Gemma Collins could be a late Strictly entry as she rehearses ballroom dancing
Gemma Collins took on Dancing On Ice earlier this year and now, it seems she might have her eyes set on Strictly Come Dancing.
The former Towie star got her Monday off to a lively start with a throwback video of her practicing ballroom dancing to Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.
You might remember when Gemma, 38, skated to Carol Channing’s classic track on DOI a few months ago so imagine how that would look on that Strictly dance floor.
In the short clip, Gemma gracefully glides across the dance studio with her partner Matt Evers, giving the routine all the sass and diva hair flicks it deserves.
Of course, the GC was rehearsing for DOI in the video but fans are now campaigning for Gemma to become a late entrant on this year’s Strictly.
One supporter pleaded: ‘Gemma for STRICTLY 2020!!! This needs to happen,’ while another agreed: ‘Someone please remind me why Gemma hasn’t been asked to do Strictly yet? [sic]’
Another fan said: ‘GEMMA!!!!!! OMG #TheGCforStrictly you are a natural [sic].’
It’s probably a little too late for Gemma to join this year’s Strictly line-up, with the likes of EastEnders actress Emma Barton, RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage and former footballer David James among those on the line-up.
Gemma’s stint on Dancing On Ice wasn’t short of controversy.
The reality star was criticised for her reported diva-like behaviour behind-the-scenes, including keeping her co-stars waiting during rehearsals, and she famously clashed with judge Jason Gardiner during a live show.
In Gemma’s mind, she makes TV gold so likely feels the BBC would be wise to snap her up.
Speaking on This Morning last week, she said: ‘That’s The GC. I make great TV, I provide you with entertainment and it’s how I make my money.
‘I make brilliant TV. Every production company wants me, you sign up with me and you get what you want. I make jaw-dropping TV but it’s just fun.’
