Halsey Endorses Bernie Sanders For President

Alt-pop superstar Halsey has pledged her support to Bernie Sanders in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“I am officially endorsing Bernie Sanders for president,” Halsey says in a nearly two-minute video that the Sanders campaign shared on Twitter on Tuesday.

“Bernie has been fighting for me since before I was alive… a queer woman in a multi-racial family who was raised poor in an American suburb,” she added. “A woman who got into the college of her dreams and couldn’t afford to go. A person physically tormented by a reproductive health disorder that I couldn’t afford to treat.”

“And Bernie was fighting for me before I was even born, because that’s his philosophy, fight for somebody that you don’t know,” said the 25-year-old singer.

The announcement from Halsey came before former Vice President Joe Biden widened his delegate lead with wins in Michigan, Idaho, Mississippi and Missouri on Tuesday.
