Holly Willoughby admits to leaving worries during Glasto bender after This Morning drama
Holly Willoughby has revealed she left "life's worries and responsibilities" behind at last weekend's Glastonbury Festival, following the drama surrounding This Morning and Phillip Schofield.
The 42 year old reportedly went on a 12-hour bender during the legendary event and has now admitted that the festival made her "feel about 20 again."
She also said it was "freeing" and that watching Lewis Capaldi singing had been "one of the most touching moments."
Writing for her Wylde Moon newsletter, she began: "Hi, how’re you feeling today?" which echoed her much-derided question, "Deep breath – firstly, are you OK?" when she returned to This Morning following a holiday to Portugal after the scandal.
Back in late May, her former-friend, Phillip Schofield, 61, stepped down from the show after admitting to having an affair with a 'much younger' male colleague on This Morning, while he was still married to his ex-wife, Stephanie.
Continuing with the newsletter, Holly said: "Just what is it about going to a festival that makes you feel about 20 again? There's something so freeing about it…as if you've entered a world that encourages you to leave life's worries and responsibilities at the gate and let your hair down.
She added: "I spent three amazing days with incredible friends, listening to some of the best musicians on the planet – all whilst dancing like lunactics.in
"Music brings people together like nothing else. I cannot begin to imagine how it must feel as an artist looking out at a Glastonbury crowd to see the faces of each and every person singing your lyrics.
And she continued: "Never was this more poignant than the crowd singing back to Lewis Capaldi on Saturday, which was probably one of the most touching moments of the weekend."
She also described witnessing Elton John's farewell show as "humbling" and revealed that I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues is a "special song" for her and husband Dan Baldwin, 48, describing it as "pure magic".
On Monday, 26 June, fans of This Morning had speculated why Holly was missing from her TV duties, with presenter Craig Doyle saying: "Holly is off today, she'll be back tomorrow."
One viewer tweeted: "What's wrong with Holly this week? Shark attack? Hungover from ascot?"
Another tweeted: "Holly will be back tomorrow” Bless her, suffering from her Glastonbury Hangover."
Someone else commented: "You’d think Holly would have thought that it’s a really bad idea to just take a day off after all the recent controversy especially after being pictured at Glastonbury."
