Jacqueline Jossa – Im happier than ever with my body – I love my curves
With the UK summer proving to be a total washout, Jaqueline Jossa had the right idea by heading to sizzling Spain.
The former EastEnders actress was spotted with her two daughters, Ella, eight, and Mia, five – who she shares with husband Dan Osborne – looking truly relaxed as she soaked up the Mediterranean sun.
And her carefree beach photos caused her fans to sigh with relief after she admitted that she has finally learnt to shake off the pressure she’d previously felt over her appearance.
“I used to think I was fat at 17, 18 – how sad and miserable is that?” she said recently, reflecting on her teen years.
“That’s why I can’t be bothered to moan now. Because I know in the future when I’m grey and old, I’ll be like, ‘I was so beautiful then why did I moan and call myself fat every day?’”
Jacqueline, who appeared on EastEnders as Lauren Branning from 2010 to 2018 before returning for two brief appearances last year and earlier this year, said her body shape noticeably changed after leaving the soap and having kids because she “wasn’t as active any more”.
But now, her mindset has switched – as long as she feels good and is healthy, then that’s all that matters.
Her new mantra, Jac says, materialised after she feared her daughters might mimic her previous habit of speaking negatively about her body.
Pointing out that Ella and Mia have started to hang on every word she utters, she explained that body shaming isn’t the kind of talk she wants them to soak up.
“I can’t allow it. I’ve really tried to change the language so it doesn’t affect my kids,” she said.
For her realistic fitness routine, the 2019 I’m A Celebrity Jungle Queen aims to hit the gym three times a week for 45-minute workouts with a PT. But she’s also careful not to “beat herself up” if she doesn’t have the time to squeeze in her exercise regime.
And when it comes to eating habits, she’s not fussed about counting calories or following a strict plan. Instead, she simply tries to always “eat a little bit better” to “maintain” her figure.
As soon as fans caught sight of the actress in Marbella last week wearing a strapless swimsuit, they quickly praised her on Instagram for showing off a “real body” on the beach.
One commented, “Beautiful,” while another wrote, “You look amazing, Jac.”
Of course there have been haters, too. The mum-of-two has been targeted with vile messages on social media over the years, with cruel critics calling her “fat”.
In a candid chat with the Soap From The Box podcast, she recalled how she used to check online forums every day to see what was being said about her, describing it as a “form of self-harm”.
But now, as she looks to leave that dark chapter behind her, The Masked Singer tour winner is embracing her gorgeous curves.
Dan, her husband of six years, couldn’t be happier; he absolutely loves her body and wouldn’t change her for the world.
The couple met at an awards ceremony and, after a romantic proposal in Greece, enjoyed a star-studded wedding at a luxury manor house in Cheshire.
Despite facing some rough patches over the years, the pair are stronger than ever.
Our source said, “She knows she’s never going to be a ‘skinny minnie’ because she’s got curves in the right places, and she’s happy that Dan wouldn’t have her any other way.
“Dan always gives her loads of compliments.”
He’s right, Jac, you look gorgeous and you’re giving out a health message to your two beautiful daughters.
