Jane McDonald: ‘I can’t do this!’ Cruise star admits she’s ‘not in the best shape’
Jane McDonald, 56, was touring the beautiful island of Corfu on her hit Channel 5 series Jane McDonald & Friends when she was forced to give up on a challenging bike ride. The singer and television personality found the uphill task a bit too difficult.
Shouting over to Strictly winner Ore Oduba she admitted: “I can’t do this!”
She also said that while she “wasn’t in the best shape” the bike ride would be extremely challenging for anyone.
As she embarked on the ride she asked: “How hard can this be?”
And then as the other bike riders overpassed her she said: “They’ve all left me!”

She continued: “Oh god!…I was a lot fitter as a child!
“The suspension is not good on this.
“Every bump is going right up my bum!”
“Now I know I’m not in the best shape, but even if you’re fit, do bear in mind how tough a ride like this can be in Corfu summer heat.”
As another hill approached she resigned: “I can’t go up there!
“I can’t do it! I’m shattered! I can’t do this love. I’m so sorry!”
Ore reassured her and said: “We gave it a go.”
The hilarious clip comes just a week after Jane appeared on BBC Radio Radio 2’s Tracks of My Tears when she got honest about building resilience and grit in life.
As she discussed her new book, Riding the Waves: My Story she got honest about her tumultuous life journey.
She told radio host Gary Davies: “It’s not all been plain sailing, but this industry isn’t.
“I wrote the book because a lot of people were asking me ‘how do you survive?’ and ‘how do you do this?’ and I think you just got to remember why we do it.
“We are very blessed and every day I feel very grateful to be in the situation that I am in.
