Katya Jones: ‘We’re in no rush’ Strictly star speaks out on divorce from Neil Jones
Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones, 30, and Neil Jones, 37, married in 2013 after dating for five years. Ahead of this year’s BBC series, they shared a joint statement telling fans they had mutually decided to split.
The dancer has now said the pair are good friends and are in “no rush” to get a divorce.
She said: “We have really thought through that decision and we are both in a good place right now.
“We’re good friends. Are we starting divorce proceedings? We haven’t got time right now. We’re in no rush,” she added to OK! Magazine.
The 2017 winning pro went on to say that she still wears her ring, despite the former couple no longer being together.

On whether it was tough working together on Strictly after their split, she explained: “It was tough, but the show was really positive of both of us because it was good to have something to focus on.
“It wasn’t an instant decision to split up, it doesn’t happen overnight. We were together for 11 years and married for six.
“I’ve still got my beautiful ring on.”
Katya and Neil split 10 months after she was pictured kissing her former dance partner Seann Walsh during a night out in London.
At the time, the dancer was still with Neil, while Seann was in a relationship with Rebecca Humphries.
Katya and Seann both apologised for their actions on Strictly: It Takes Two and on Twitter days later.
Following their actions, Seann’s girlfriend revealed she had split up with him after five years together.
Katya and Neil stayed together up until their recent split in August.

The professional dancers both shared a statement to announce their break-up on social media.
Part of their lengthy post read: “After 11 years, we have made the mutual decision to separate.
“We will always love each other, just in a different way as friends.
“This will never change what a great team we make and we are really proud of everything we have achieved together.
“Our shared love of dance means we will keep working and dancing together as well as exploring individual projects,” they continued. “No matter what we do we will always support and respect each other.”
This series, Neil was partnered up with his first celebrity partner, Alex Scott, on the main show.
The dancing duo noticeably grew a close bond during their time together, prompting many to query if they are more than friends.
In a joint interview together with Hello! Magazine, they addressed a potential romance.

Neil said: “There’s nothing on our minds but the show – we don’t have time to think about anything else.
”I’m single but I haven’t even thought about dating. Coming out of a long-term relationship I’m just focusing on Strictly.”
Alex added that she was also single, but wasn’t “searching” for a romance.
