Laura Dern Thinks Her ‘Big Little Lies’ Breakdowns Are ‘Quite Delicious’
Laura Dern appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday night (July 15) and talked about her Big Little Lies character’s infamous one-liners and breakdowns.
“It is amazing, and it’s been amazing as people are watching, having people come up to you, and I’m starting to realize, I think it’s because we’ve all been there,” the 52-year-old actress, who plays Renata on the series, expressed.
“We’ve all had this moment, but we’ve, I guess, thankfully, never said what Renata says,” Laura continued. “But we walk away in deep regret having not said that thing to the individual who’s just infuriated us, so it’s quite delicious.”
Laura Dern also revealed revealed that there is a text-message group chat with the Big Little Lies cast called The Monterey Five, and even Meryl Streep wanted to get in on it.
“This other woman wants to join the text,” Laura laughed. “Like ‘Meryl. OK? We have our own group text. It’s a little rude.’
“But then, of course, she writes the most genius thing ever, inspires us all to be better people and we’re like, ‘OK, you can be in our texts.’”
