Louise Redknapp warns fans ‘heartbreak is a killer’ as she opens up on her ‘toughest’ year

Louise Redknapp has opened up on her "toughest" year following her divorce from Jamie Redknapp, saying: "Heartbreak is a killer."

The 45 year old finalised her split from Jamie, 46, at the very end of 2018 following their break up in 2017.

But the singer has now reflected on her "emotionally tough" year as she celebrates the start of the new decade.

Louise shared a collage of her top moments from the year with her 666,000 Instagram followers alongside the emotional post.

She wrote: "I don’t often open up on social media, but tonight seems like a good time to.

"Creativley this year has been my best yet writing and recording my new album Heavy Love and performing in the west end, but emotionally it has been my toughest year and I’ve faced challanges I never thought I would. [sic]

"Heartbreak is a killer so I want to thank my boys, my family, my friends and all of you who have been kind over the last 12 months. So Let’s take on 2020 like we mean it!"

Fans of the former Eternal singer were quick to throw their support behind the star, with one writing: "World is your oyster Lou … you are smashing it .. love you and all the woman that you are."

A second added: "Heartbreak is the worst pain. But with your best girls (and boys) right beside you, you’ll get there happy new year."

While a third chimed: "It's such a joy to see you back. Not only that, you have released some of the best pop music in the last handful of years. I'm so excited for the tour, the album and HMV event. Looking forward to celebrating even more in 2020."

One fan credited the Strictly Come Dancing favourite for helping them through their own pain, telling her: "I echo this sentiment!
