Madonna celebrates her 61st birthday with extravagant bash as her son David Banda sings for her and daughter Mercy plays the piano
She celebrated her 61st birthday in style, dressing up as her alter ego Madame X and partying with friends and family.
And Madonna was serenaded at the bash by her son David Banda, 13, while her daughter Mercy James, 13, played the piano.
David, surrounded by a group of party goers, held the microphone and began to sing Your Song by Elton John when his mother joined him and sang along.

The singer looked stylish as ever for the festivities, donning a military green general’s jacket replete with badges, medals and a ‘Madame X’ name tag.
She also sported her trademark Madame X eye-patch and a crisp white shirt with a black tie.
The Like A Prayer hitmaker captioned the video: ‘Best Birthday present ever… when your children sing to you.’

Madonna marked her special day with several other posts to her Instagram, featuring the superstar in full military regalia and fishnets in one picture and revealing impromptu celebrations in two videos.
Currently in the throes of rehearsal for her Madame X theater tour starting this fall, the Material Girl was seen in one of the Instagram videos among her crew of dancers for the tour, receiving birthday donuts as the cheering crowd held red and white Madame X balloons.
‘This is the beginning of three marvelous nights of celebration, and it all starts with donuts,’ Madonna said, wearing a black t-shirt and a beige bandanna on her head. ‘Dig in, motherf—ers!!’

As a percussive beat starts, the crowd cheers and dances, and soon Madonna was seen with a friend taking a shot in the midst of the celebration, arms interlocked.

Madame X is the name of Madonna’s 14th studio album, as well as the tour kicking off in late September in New York City’s BAM Howard Gilman Opera House.
