Meghan Markle Would Say "Great!" If Archie or Lilibet Decide to Become Actors

Okay, so we have some good news and some bad news. The bad news: Meghan Markle says she’s (probably, most likely, *almost definitely*) done with acting for good. The good news: She would be as jazzed as the rest of us if either/both of her and Prince Harry’s kids, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, decide to follow in her thespian footsteps some day.

Both revelations came during Meghan’s new Variety interview, in which she admitted that she truly “didn’t think [she’d] ever be in the entertainment industry again” after she left her acting days behind to be a full-time working royal back in 2018. Even though she thinks she’s “done” with acting, Meghan is back in the industry now, thanks to her and Harry’s production company and deal with Netflix.

But, just because Meghan’s acting days seem to be behind her doesn’t mean she’s anti-being an actor as a thing. In fact, when asked how she’d react if Archie and/or Lilibet decide to follow her lead and pursue careers in the entertainment industry, she would be all for it.

“I would say, ‘Great!'” she said. “When you become a parent, you genuinely want your kids to find the things that bring them complete joy. They’re our kids, obviously, and they’re part of a legacy and a tradition and a family that will have other expectations. But I want them to be able to carve out their own path. If it’s the entertainment industry, great. And also, good luck.”

Annnd, for the record, if Archie or Lilibet *do* decide to go into the Markle family business, Meghan would like the record to show that any success they have will have to be well-earned, even if having famous parents does the initial door-opening for them.

“There are so many people that will talk about what opened the door for my children. But it still takes talent and a lot of grit,” she added. “We’re creating multidimensional, interesting, kind, creative people. That’s who our kids are.”

If you’re thinking “wait, this post is almost over and nothing was said about that whole “probably, most likely, *almost definitely*” business, that’s because while we got the bad and good news out of the way up top, we saved the BEST news for last: Even though Meghan insists her “intention is to absolutely not” act again, she also didn’t slam the door shut on the idea completely, saying “never say never” and thus leaving the door open for us to all get lost in some quality daydream fantasies about future movies Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet can star in together.
